About half a dozen vistors entered the enterprise open and dominated the event (when they went the right way) in the squally conditions at Notts County. However second place did go to Tim (see right) from Notts County. There was sunshine, showers, light winds and 15-20mph gusts all adding to the fun, and causing a few to capsize.

Half a dozen visitors combined with 9 home boats provided close racing for a range of abilities in a variety of wind strengths. The first race was dominated by the visiting boats. J Woodward and A Holliwell (E23089) led from the windward mark setting a pattern which would be repeated throughout the day. Winds of 20knots provided challenging conditions for a few newcomers to enterprise racing. The Coghills(E21397) decision to swim on the last lap lost well earned places.

The wind dropped for the start of the second race with a squall requiring a period of survival sailing. The visiting boats deciding to follow Woodward and Holliwell the wrong way around the course and rtd's due to the rain meant that T Cripps and A Clay(E21366) in a boat loaned from Nigel Potter gained a critical 1st place even though they normally sail outside of the Enterprise fleet (Laser/Scorpion).

With all to play for in the final race the Woodward and Holliwell team secured another 1st followed by M Cossey/C Barron (E22823) 2nd and G Brown/D Swain(E23194) 3rd. Of note was the fly away gib stick of Jon Woodard which while offering small advantage to seasoned helms and crews was thought to offer inexperienced crews greater advantage as it stopped "messing about" time when putting the pole up/away.
