BBC East Midlands (Inside out) came to the club to film Russ Towns, a pensioner who not only windsurfs but passes on his knowledge to youngsters (and older windsurfers) and of course is our President. Cameron Coghill joined him as the youngster being taught.

The BBC contacted Russ last week having heard aboout him in a pub (from Brian Start) as a 73 year old windsurfer and came down the following week.Whilst the camerman was her he also interviewed to Glynn Myatt who is not only coming up to the decade older than Russ but teaches dinghy sailing, and is also very active on a Tuesday night.

The program is we understand about the more experienced passing on knowledge to others, so we suggested Thursday with the Last of the Summer wine participants when many who are down are retired.

The film is due to shown between Autumn this year and spring next year, when we hear a transmission date we will post it on the website.
