Club RYA Club of Year Finalist

Great news! Notts County Sailing Club have won the Facility Development category of the National RYA Club of Year competition 2018. This, in large part is in recognition for all the work that has been put into the clubhouse upgrade. Although a result of a great team effort by so many members of the club it is also a tribute to the drive and determination of Ross Ryan our recent commodore and current Treasurer.

This now puts the club in contention for the overall RYA/Yachts and Yachting Club of the Year award 2018 which will be announced at the upcoming RYA Dinghy Show 3rd/4th March 2018. As a club we have been runners up and commended on several occasions in the past. This year the overall winner will be decided by online votes cast at

We would love you, your families and friends to support us so please go to the site where you will see what makes our club special – it isn’t just about our facilities but it is about our warmth, friendliness and many other facets.

Winning the Facilities Development award is great but winning the overall Club of the Year would be fantastic and help us to spread the word about our club and sailing in general to an even wider audience.

We have included a QR code on the page so if you want to print it out a modern smartphone can just point the camera at it and it will link to the club voting page! 9or indeed copy it to your photos on your phone)

This link is to poster which if you can find suitable local positions (notice boards etc) please use to help us get more votes. Poster to put up locally

Thanks to everyone in the club for enabling us to get this far and it would be great if we can go that one better! So, spread the word to colleagues, friends and family and let’s do Notts County proud
