Training Lake Cabin Area – the works associated with the development of this area are virtually complete. The old training cabin / storage has now been removed, mains electricity and water diverted and extended, a new 40’ container installed for the storage of university wind surfers (paid for by the University) and a new multipurpose cabin “THE HUB” with patio area provided for the use of all club members and open water swimmers. The” HUB”, an anti-vandal 32’x 10’ portacabin with power, lighting, heating and H&C water will be available for use by all members, including for coaching and training under a booking system when the club Covid policy permits.
An additional bonus is the provision of a covered storage area between the new HUB and general store that has been partly constructed using reclaimed materials from the demolished cabin.
The project that was started in June this year has been undertaken entirely by a band of willing club volunteers under the project lead of Martin Hart our Vice Commodore. Many thanks to all those that helped with the works including:- Nicki Theokritoff, Tony Dunsworth, Karl Lye, Martin Hayhoe, Anthony Quinn, Mick Ellis, Adrian Jones, Ross Ryan, James Logan and a team from the University Windsurfing Club.
