There was a fantastic turnout for Notts County at the first Topper National Series event of the season at Draycote water. 13 of our junior sailors took part I’m a fleet of 100 boats, and achieved some brilliant results. On the Saturday 3 races were sailed in light and difficult conditions but by the end of the day Katherine Gunn and Sam Grayton were both overnight leaders in the 4.2 and 5.3 fleets. On the Sunday only 1 race was sailed due to the wind dying, the 5.3 was won by Ben Paling, his first national level race win.Sam’s Saturday results were enough for him to bring home the trophy, and Katherine finished in 2nd by one point. Chloe Grayton was 1st under 9 In the 4.2 class and Ben Paling 1st Youth in the 5.3.
