The Youth Race squad, under the watchful eyes of gordon Burton and John Gathergood has had some good turnouts with up to 20 at some weekends.

This weekend saw Ross & Kathryn Ryan race coaching group of six youngsters, just starting on their race career. Juniors were also learning about coaching.

The winds were a little light and variable, so it wasn’t easy to go upwind, but all were learning. The afternoon saw the youngsters taking part in Saturday racing in the sunshine and warmth, though again the winds were light.

We also had the University out, and birthday boy Nicki out with Peter in the yawl.

Sunday saw a few out sailing in the gusty conditions, not the full blow gale predicted, but a few capsizes in the guests, not helped by the shifting winds.
