An awesome week at the ILCA nationals at WPNSA (Weymouth). Both Chloe and Kat finished in the prizes in the ILCA 4 with a Midlands 1,2,3 in the female category. Sam finished 18th in the ILCA 7 which is amazing considering this was his first event in the ILCA 7
Ex member Louise Clayton was selected to represent Great Briton in the world offshore double handed championships with Peter Bacon.
our Bosun Tim won gold in the archery at the Transplant games – not sailing but a great achievement.
and… ex Member Emma Wilson won bronze at the Olympics, with help from her training partner, from Notts County Duncan Monaghan.
Topper National Series
Kat Gunn second overall just behind Tom Semmens, the final event was held end of June for the series, things were tense between Tom and Kat. I heard that Tom had to get top 3 at NS5 to get the win over Kat. So, Tom coming 2nd at NS5 meant he won the 5.3s, Kat came in second and Harry M close behind. Congratulations Kat.
Junior & Youth results to May 2024
James Burton was 5th overall in the Midlands Topper Traveller series which has recently concluded.
Kat Gunn won the Topper NS3 event at Grafham a few weeks ago.
Sam Grayton has been competing in ILCA6;
Chloe Grayton and Kat Gunn have been competing in ILCA4.
We believe there has also been activity in 29ers (Charlie Hopkinson; Ben Paling); 420 (Ed Quinn and Ed Paling).
