HANSA Open 2022

The Notts County Sailing Club HANSA Open took place on 18th May 2022. A big thank you to all who were involved in organising the successful Hansa sailability open meeting at the club. There were 14 boats participating, with two from Notts County.

A fine morning and encouraging forecast set a cheerful tone as boats began arriving at Notts County for our 21st Hansa TT; 15 in total from all over the country; Frensham, New Forest, Tideway (London), Clyde Cruising Club, Taipei Sailing Association and our neighbouring Clubs, Carsington and Rutland. Hansa 2.3, 303 one and two person and Liberty fleets were represented

The somewhat strengthening wind and some interesting gusts gave everybody a good days sail. Thanks to the Race Team are due as well.

The mood back in the clubhouse was buoyant, cheerful. All volunteers were thanked for their welcome, support and good company.

The best compliment we could have – they are looking forward to coming back next year.

Ian Chearman and Rick Jillings from Carsington won the 303 double handed, and Chichain Wu from Clyde Cruising Club the 303 single handed. The Liberty fleet saw Rutland’s Paul Pearson win.

Thanks to Anne Clark the club sailability and Hansa rep for NCSC who has organised these events for many years. She was ably supported by the summer winer team helping everyone on the water and the race team providing a superb day of racing for the visitors.
