Becoming an instructor

The club is always on the lookout for volunteers, especially for the training section. Teaching newcomers to the sport, or helping improve a sailors skills is very rewarding. The more you put in, the more you get back.

We have developed pathways to becoming an instructor. A key part of our Dinghy Instructors pathway, will be the introduction of NCSC Junior Assistant Dinghy Instructors – to encourage under 16s to start on their way to becoming dinghy instructors. Though, we are also developing an adult pathway too.

Another change will be to the Dinghy Assistant instructors qualification.  The option to “specialise” in teaching juniors and/or adults will now be available. And sponsorship towards RYA course fees will be available for those on the instructors pathways, T&Cs apply.

Please see the pathway links below or speak to our chief instructors, or development coach for further details.
