We are sad to report Jane Allen, John’s wife died recently after a long illness. The couple joined in 1989 with their daughter Anita. Jane was skilled machinist and worked from home making up garments and samples. Whilst John has sailed many craft at the club Jane was happier on shore. He still crews in a F15.

After Jan Start finished at the galley, Jane and John ran the galley with a cold buffet on race days, until Pauline took over. 

John then became Sailing Secretary and also put his hand up for the bar ! Jane often ran the bar whilst John was out sailing. She was a regular visitor to the club till ill health got the better of her.

Those who wish to pay their respects are welcome at Jane’s funeral at 1000 hrs on Wednesday 5th February at Gedling Crematorium (Catfoot Lane – NG4 4QH)
