The annual junior open at the club attracted 18 entries, one of the best number for several years.

There was a light to moderate breeze and a few spills and John Sears  and team managed to get five short races in, and even take some photos ! 

Eight were taking part for the first time and were coached by Glyn Ritchie and Stephanie Gunn. There was a noticeable improvement in standard in just one day, clearly the initiative to get youngsters on the water and racing is working.  All the under 13s started racing this year, James has been out in all weathers and deservedly won the trophy, and it’s great to see a newcomer second.

It its great to see youngsters out, in many cases the under 19s giving the adults a run for their money in the main race series.
