Paul Reynolds

Paul Reynolds

It is with great sadness the Club commemorates the passing of Paul Reynolds. He left these earth-bound shores unexpectedly (aged 58) on 26th October.  Our thoughts are with his family who at this time are preparing for the celebration of his life, which will take place at Gedling Crematorium on Tuesday 3rd December at 10 am.

The Reynolds family have been part of our community since 2008 and like many longstanding members have played a major part in the fabric of the Club.

Paul was an RYA race coach, RYA Dinghy and powerboat instructor. He was a great supporter of training at the club. He would often step forward to help with sailing and power boat courses at short notice. He was one of training’s stalwarts and could be relied upon to volunteer whenever the request for help was made. He taught with great kindness and encouragement.

He also championed the cause of the 400 class by taking on the role of Fleet Captain and raced at Club & international level. He was a regular sailor and often at the centre of the party and keen to socialise with others at the bar !

In his memory the family suggest that donations to the RNLI would be seem very appropriate.

Our thoughts are very much with Cath, his son Matt and daughter Izzie, they welcome the support from the Club and should you want to attend his celebration of life they would be pleased to see you on 3rd December, at Gedling Crematorium.
