The second Topper Traveler event was held at Notts county on 10th December 2022. After several days of flat calm with predictions of freezing fog it was a close call as to proceeding, but on Friday the decision was taken. 

Th conditions undoubtably reduced numbers, but still just under 30 youngsters took part on a cold and frosty day, the temperature reached a balmy 3’C and the wind wasn’t much more than 3 or 5 mph most of the day.

Ken Twemlow the Race officer set a simple long beat with a few reaches back to the line.

The First race was won by Notts County’s Kat Gunn, she was also second in the next two races which was won by Jessica Powell from Draycott, who took the overall win.

The next few places overall were all Notts County, Kat Gunn (2nd) Gwyneth Layton third, Heather Quinn forth and Sammy Mason fifth. Cillian Dyne came 7th, sop half the top ten were Notts County, well done all, it was cold and little wind so finishing was enough of an achievement, let alone the 4 races.
